Artist's Statement

 

 

My name is Dara Krueger, I am senior in high school and I have always been interested in photography, but never acted on these feelings until just last year. I was always occupied with marching band and other work that I did not have time for taking pictures and I didn’t have a camera. Taking my first photography class forced me to take pictures every week and I loved calling it homework, because it was so much fun shooting and editing in so many ways. Before photography I took all of the drawing and computer graphics classes I could. I discovered that I have my own styles and techniques and it shows in almost all of my work.  The choices of angles, low saturation, and dark theme shows through my drawings to my photographs to the way I edit them in Photoshop.

Art has always been apart of my life and I want it to stay apart of my life, whether it be playing trumpet, drawing, or taking pictures. I am in love with art and photography has opened me to a whole new world that I have yet to discover.
